☀️Summer in January☀️ – Summer Opportunities Fair
This past Thursday, Kehillah hosted over 20 representatives from various organizations at our annual Summer in January – Summer Opportunities Fair. The MPR was packed so that students could walk around and speak to reps that provided info and excitement about all the opportunities available.
11th and 12th grade advisors previewed the organizations with students and discussed the importance of doing something productive during the summer. Insights included:
- Engaging in activities is a good way to find out what you like and don’t like
- Volunteering is good for our communities and our souls
- Follow your interests with Action! Like sports? Volunteer at a sports camp, write sports articles. Like Art? Volunteer at a museum
- Working teaches about responsibility, time management, and financial management
- And yes, doing something productive is good for your future (college applications, resume, etc)
Now for the icing on the cake:
At the end of their conversations with representatives, students received a ticket – 10 tickets got them a trip to the dessert table, win/win.
