Jenna Mu, 11th-Grader, Class of 2027
Hey future Rams! My name is Jenna, and I’m currently a 11th-Grader in the class of 2027 at Kehillah. I am truly proud of this school and the unwavering support of everyone in the community. I have heard countless times when a fellow student says, “This can only happen at Kehillah,” when referring to a community-wide event where people are unapologetically themselves and are applauded for it.
In addition to Kehillah’s supportive community, the school has a wealth of opportunities for rigorous academics. Despite not considering myself a “history person” before my freshman year, world history has become one of my favorite subjects. Mr. Nybakken has taught me how to thoroughly enjoy history through his great sense of humor and ability to make any topic engaging.
Finally, my learning experiences at Kehillah don’t just stop at 3 p.m.; they extend beyond the classroom with extracurriculars such as robotics and the occasional math competition. I am so excited to meet you, whether it’s on campus, via email, or on social media. I hope you too can feel the love that radiates from the place I am so lucky to call my school.
Trey Livingston, 12th-Grader, Class of 2026
Hi there! I'm Trey, and I will be graduating in 2026. Go seniors! Kehillah is the Hebrew word for community, and that's exactly what I found here. Transferring in as an 11th-grader was going to be difficult anywhere, but I'm so grateful I chose Kehillah because the support I received was unbelievable. This school is like a second home to me, and I hope it becomes yours as well!
Challenging myself with rigorous KAT classes is both educational and fun. There is no pressure on students, as everyone has their own unique path to dive into their interests. This doesn't stop us from finding friendships everywhere we look!
Sports and school spirit clubs keep me busy outside the classroom, from soccer to basketball, to greeting new prospective students. My family also finds ways to get involved, as my brother is also a student here, only strengthening the sense of community. At Kehillah, everyone is family, and we lift each other up because of it. I hope I get the privilege to welcome you to campus soon!
Adi Lerner, 10th-Grader, Class of 2028
Hi future Rams! My name is Adi and I’m a 10th-grader in the class of 2028! As a younger sibling, I’d always heard great things about Kehillah and I got super excited to join the school, but nothing could’ve prepared me for how amazing it truly is. I formed friendships that will last a lifetime, and I’ve learned so much in all my classes. At Kehillah, your teachers are more than teachers, as they want you to succeed as much as you want you to succeed.
Kehillah has given me the opportunity to explore all my academic interests, as well as my athletic interests. One of my favorite parts of the school is the athletics program where I bonded with girls in other grades, got to compete, but overall I had the privilege of just being part of the amazing athletic community where everybody was constantly lifting each other up and being so unbelievably kind.
I’m so excited to continue my time here and I hope you join too!
Adam Talcott, Father of Stella, Class of 2027
Adam, along with his wife and two children, call Los Altos home. His daughter, Stella, is a proud 10th grader in Kehillah’s Class of 2027 who graduated from Keys School in Palo Alto. Adam and his family were drawn to Kehillah because it is a unique place in the Bay Area where students can pursue their passions and challenge themselves academically in a supportive environment that blends academic excellence, small class sizes, diverse extracurricular activities, and a strong focus on student growth and mental health.
Caryn Wasserstein, Mother of Max, Class of 2025
Caryn Wasserstein is the KPA Chair for the 2024-25 school year. As a mom of a current senior, and last year's KPA Vice Chair, she is excited to lead our parent community as we further embrace Kehillah "community" for our parents and guardians. Her son, Max, a student from Hillview Middle School, chose Kehillah for the warmth and care he felt in the application process, the small classes, and the personal attention he saw at the school.
At Kehillah, you will find a diversity of backgrounds in staff and teachers, the students and families, but everyone is uniquely linked together in a community of compassion, learning, and growth that you will embrace, and will embrace you. Welcome!
Elana Manson, Mother of Jessie, Class of 2026
We have two children who attended Kehillah–Ryan, a recent graduate (Class of 2023) who is currently in college at Tufts University, and Jessie, a current junior (Class of 2026) who graduated from Girls' Middle School. Both kids chose to enroll at Kehillah because of its strong academics (and college acceptances) within a smaller, more nurturing environment, where they could learn to self-advocate and push themselves beyond their comfort zones. I look forward to connecting with prospective families.
Roxanne Cohen, Mother of Ian, Class of 2025
Roxanne loves being part of the Kehillah community, and is a mom to a student in the class of 2025 who started at Kehillah as a freshman. Roxanne chose Kehillah for her son, Ian, because of the small class sizes and personal attention that students receive. Ian graduated form Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School after attending La Entrada Middle School until sixth grade. Roxanne deeply understands the differences between independent and public schools in the Bay Area.
Roxanne is a Southern California native, and after spending four years in Boston during college, she was excited to return to sunny California. Along with her husband, she relocated to the peninsula 19 years ago and has raised three kids in the area. In her free time, you can find her skiing, hiking, enjoying time outside, and trying to keep up with her teenagers.
Tom Stuart, Father of Graham, Class of 2025
Our son, Graham, joined Kehillah from the Sterne School in ninth grade. He chose Kehillah because it offered a rare combination of challenging academics in a supportive environment. Because Graham has had such a great experience, I'm eager to help families considering Kehillah understand the school better in order for them to assess their fit.
Richard Brownstone, Dean of Academics
Richard Brownstone is our Dean of Academics. A New Yorker with a varied background in ballet, database design, and more, he's thrilled to be at Kehillah working with students in English in addition to his administrative responsibilities. He is also a published young adult fiction author who plays piano and enjoys watching his daughter's volleyball games. A Renaissance man indeed!
Rabbi Dennis Eisner, Dean of Jewish Life & Philanthropy
Rabbi Dennis Eisner is a former senior rabbi of Peninsula Temple Beth El. He is a music lover and can be found listening to The Grateful Dead, among others, in the morning each day as he welcomes students to Kehillah. He is excited to answer any questions you may have about Kehillah in general or Jewish life specifically.
Teresa Fradejas, Spanish Teacher
Teresa Fradejas is a passionate Spanish teacher who loves hiking, reading, and cooking. She brings a unique, hands-on approach to her language classes through creating authentic, student centered activities. A movie enthusiast at heart, Teresa finds inspiration in storytelling from around the world. She is eager to connect with prospective families, and looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm for language and culture with them.
