Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!
This year will be extraordinary (ex·traor·di·nar·y /ikˈstrôrd(ə)nˌerē,ˌekstrəˈôrdnˌerē/
adjective – 1. very unusual or remarkable) and extraordinary (2. unusually great) because you will make it so.
Our community, our kehillah, is what we make of it and I have already seen the faculty, staff, students, and families of Kehillah come together to prepare for a year unlike any other. Reimagining the year has certainly been a challenge but it has also been an opportunity. The creativity that is being unleashed is exciting. I can’t wait for you to experience it!
This message includes important information and links to forms that must be submitted to the school by August 19.
Our all-remote Kinnus will take place Monday, August 24 and Tuesday, August 25. The first days of classes will be Wednesday, August 26 through Friday, August 28.
One of the most joyful parts of my transition time has been getting to know our incoming students across the grade levels. Joining us this year are artists, musicians, coders, gardeners, cooks, bakers, SCUBA-divers, readers, writers, Office watchers (me, too!), and at least one expert bracelet weaver.
Extraordinary additions to our extraordinary community in an extraordinary year.
Warm regards,
Daisy Pellant

Virtual Kinnus!
The first days of the school year are dedicated to Kinnus, an all-school retreat. Kinnus means gathering in Hebrew. And this year we’ll be gathering online. The days of Kinnus are focused on welcoming new students, bonding, games, and school spirit! Students will meet teachers, connect with peers in different grades, and form lasting bonds with their classmates in this fun-filled start of school completely on Zoom.Technology Update
As Kehillah prepares to begin the school year remotely, we are acutely aware of the unanticipated demands that may be placed on the technology that you have in your homes over the coming months. We are committed to ensuring that neither the technology required this year nor its related costs represent a prohibitive burden for any member of our community. There are two major requirements for this year that we want to bring toyour attention.- Students will need access to a PC, Linux or Mac. Unfortunately, Chromebooks are not an option because students need to be able to download and run software that is not cloud-based.
- Students will need access to high-capacity WiFi to support the use of Zoom and other programs.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Robert Smith, director of admissions and financial aid, or Patti Carbery, principal.New Student Orientation
