Theatre Students Explore Puppetry

Theater 1 students create Brown Paper Man puppets using the methodology of Gyre & Gimble, a celebrated Puppet Theatre Company from Great Britain.

Brown Paper Man puppets, made from brown kraft paper, have a similar feel to Japanese Bunraku puppets. In this series of photos, the mini ensembles create their puppets and, as seen in the videos, began experimenting with the three fundamental elements of Brown Paper Man puppet movement: Breath, Focus, and Weight.
