On Wednesday, February 14, at 9:35 a.m., Kehillah will join with activists around the world for the annual One Billion Rising in Solidarity.
This year, the students involved have created a powerful and poignant program that shines a light on this difficult topic and inspires our community to stand up against such atrocities. We will begin by showing a TED talk, then follow up with a discussion about the shared responsibility of our community. The program next Wednesday will review global statistics and then zoom-in to current events, examine cultural norms, and discuss situations students potentially witness every day that could be exacerbating the problem. We will then invite everyone to sit, stand, dance, or simply be present to show their support for the cause – ending violence against women and girls.
