Mitigating Risk
What We’re Doing
We’ve been working all summer to prepare our building for teachers, staff, and students to return. We are following the guidelines of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), Independent School Management (ISM), our California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), The California Department of Public Health, and the advice of dozens of expert consults with whom we’ve engaged. In all cases, we determine the baseline guidance for health & safety and set our standard to exceed that.
We’ve measured the space to determine our building capacity with nearly 7ft of spacing.
We’ve designed greater use of outdoor space for open-air use.
We’ve replaced our HVAC filters with COVID-level MERV filters and a UV light system for 4x/hour air replacement and cleaning.
We’ve added an additional security building outside the front entrance and increased security guards so one can be patrolling the perimeter while another is stationed at the entrance.
What We Need You to Do
Although there is no way to mitigate all risk, used in combination, these four pillars help protect us from COVID-19 transmission.
We can’t do this without your cooperation and collaboration. Maintaining COVID-safe behavior in school and outside of school will help us prevent transmission when we are allowed back on campus. Following all guidelines related to the four pillars — hygiene, screening, distancing, and wearing masks — and supporting your children to consistently follow these rules is important. If your child is sent home due to symptoms or difficulty complying with the rules at school, please support us in this decision. We do not take our community’s safety lightly.
