Kehillah Students Host All-School, Fair Trade Passover Seder
Today we held a Passover seder at school in anticipation of the festival of matzah starting Friday night. It wasn’t your typical seder – we replaced ritual foods with chocolate!🍫 This change in ritual came along with discussion about fair trade foods and how it relates the Passover story. During the maggid section of the seder, students discussed whether our chocolate covered matzah was the bread of affliction or freedom, what other questions we should be asking to become more informed about fair trade, the modern plagues of our society, and what we personally are enslaved to. We rounded out our celebration with a lively game of Passover Kahoot (trivia) and a rousing rendition of the 4 questions led by the youngest in our community—the freshmen.
