Kehillah Starts off 2019 Giving Back to the Community
In an effort to start off 2019 upholding Kehillah’s Four Commitments, in the last week of winter break, a group of staff and students volunteered to prep and serve breakfast at LifeMoves in Palo Alto. The center supports homeless and people-in-need in the area. With the recent cold nights, people come to the center for hot breakfast, dry and safe place to rest, and for a little bit of caring, human warmth. Many thanks to Sandi MacQuinn for organizing our opportunities at LifeMoves.
At the end of last semester, Sandi led a sleeping-bag collection effort at Kehillah. The sleeping bags were delivered directly to the people sleeping outside during cold nights. As Sandi described it, the look of gratitude from the receivers was a reminder of the power of giving.
Here’s to a year of helping our neighbors and spreading peace and love in our communities.
