Kehillah Fall 2018 Sports Update
Rams Cross Country
Kehillah’s Cross Country season is in full swing, and the Kehillah team already participated in two meets. The team runs every day after school. Most days are on the nearby Bay Lands, but once a week they venture to the neighboring Los-Altos Hills and get to enjoy trails and nature. Speed workouts are held on Cubberley track. In addition to running, They are working on general fitness and flexibility. The improvement in the meet results is impressive. Our Varsity runner, Senior Adam Eylon, ran sub-seven mile pace to finish the 2.94 Miles course in 20:37. Our overall team average improved by more than a minute, with Oak Giraudbit cutting 2:25 minutes from his time! Cross Country will be competing in their third meet on Tuesday, October 6th.
Rams Soccer
Kehillah’s Soccer team earned their first win by beating Mid-Pen 11-7 in an offensive showdown, last week. This past weekend, the Rams took on our rivals from up north, the JCHS Wolves. With no bench to support trading in fresh players, all Kehillah players played the full 80 minutes. In the end, the result was 6-2 to JCHS, with the two Kehillah goals scored by Guy Manor and David Kelmar. The Kehillah Soccer team is coached by Luis Santos.
Rams Volleyball
Kehillah Varsity Volleyball team has a 5-5 record and has been playing very competitive matches. In last week’s first match, they beat Mid-Peninsula High School in three games (25-10, 25-8, 25-11). The team was led by the stellar serving of Naomi Spritzer. In the second match, they lost to a dominant Summit Shasta team that is vying for a league title. With only one substitute, the team has shown tremendous improvement over the course of the season and has contributions from each member.
