Ilan Eisenberg (’21) Wins Chidon haTanach – International Youth Torah Competition
What started as an idea in Ms. Elman’s Ecclesiastes class last semester has now led to a commendable achievement! Sophomore, Ilan Eisenberg, recently won the high school English division, Chidon haTanach National Torah competition held at Yeshiva University. Over 250 students from around the country were invited to the national finals. Next up, Ilan will represent the United States in 2020 at the international level. Ilan put in many hours of studying on his own, as well as qualifying exams and competitions, all supported by his academic sponsor, Ms. Elman.
“I found participating in Chidon haTanach to be a unique and rewarding experience that brought me closer to the Tanach (Jewish Bible), and on a larger scale, to the story of the Jewish people.
I am excited to participate in something that is so meaningful to me, and I am honored to represent Kehillah and the United States going forward in the competition.” – Ilan Eisenberg (’21)
Kol HaKavod, Ilan!
