I can only start this weeks eNews by addressing both the elephant and the donkey in the room. Our Election Beit Midrash programming was such a welcomed departure from the chaos of the current political climate. We enjoyed a notably calm and eloquently presented discussion of the topic of elections, together as a community. In a time where our country feels divided amidst a nail-biter of a presidential race, Kehillah, staff, faculty and students heard from our resident experts, our wonderful History Department. It was a presentation of the facts of the inner workings of our election process that covered both history and elements of the current race, information about the California Propositions and more! Our Dean of History, Ms. Ratledge along with History Teacher, Mr. Linden are co-hosting a fantastic podcast called Historically Speaking, initially created for their students, this engaging program is worth a listen! With all we’ve got going on right now, their banter on various historical and current topics is a great way to get informed, free from all of the stress of current events. Study Support at The Homework Tent @ Kehillah B’Yachad
Tented space has been available for students who want to come and do homework in a
semi-social and supported environment.
We have support in the subject/skill areas of math, research, and writing available during these times.
HOMEWORK TENT TIMES:
Mon/Tues/Thur @ 4:30pm-6:00pm
Weds @ 12:30pm-5:00pm
We are very excited that Oliver Cashman-Brown, History Teacher, and Samir Malik, Teacher Assistant, will be offering up support in the Homework Tent which will remain a quiet, drop-in, study space for students to use in the way that works best for them.
STILL GOING ON: Drive for supplies to help the homeless 👐
Please consider bringing food items, socks, masks, toiletries, hand sanitizer, and other basic necessities. There will be a box on campus near the Kehillah entrance, where we will be collecting the supplies for a community service project to help the homeless.
The box will remain on campus during Kehillah B’Yachad programs.
We still have not reached our goal. You can make the difference!
When we come together, we can do BIG THINGS but right now, we need your help. Your gift goes straight to keeping the same level of transformative education going!
Our remote program is thriving but our administration is also working towards safely transitioning. Whether it’s hybrid or bringing everyone back together in person, it must be done as safely as possible! Our work continues behind the scenes to ensure a comfortable transition. Every little bit helps! With our matching program, a little goes a long way :).
There are many ways to support Kehillah Jewish High School through philanthropic giving. Your gift directly supports our students, faculty, and staff, and enables us to deliver on our mission.
We have already received donations and pledges from 100% of our Board.
Please join them in supporting the school.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of an anonymous donor your donations will be matched as follows:
