Distance Learning Success
Kehillah is not just a building, it’s a community.
As schools across California braced for the impact of remote learning, we found our staff, ready, willing, and able to make the shift.
Kehillah Zoom classes quickly took flight and our expert teaching staff and administration were able to not only immediately adapt lesson plans, but also apply their top-notch universal learning techniques, virtually, continuing the connection and support of the Kehillah teacher-student relationship.
Our teaching and administrative staff are focused on:
Kehillah is not just in a classroom
Our staff and KPA has been simultaneously focusing on morale. The entire community has stepped up to keep spirits high and we are all feeling the love and support!
Feedback we are Receiving
Our daughter has continued to learn, be engaged and feel connected.
Kehillah’s response was extremely rapid and just as importantly, very thoughtful in approach and implementation. It provides an environment that continues to engage and promote learning during this time. The structured school week, real-time virtual class settings, continued connection and relationship building with teachers as well as other students, virtual non-academic gatherings and an overall sense of “being in this together” has been beautiful and inspiring to witness. Love that you’ve found a balance between recognizing the seriousness of the situation in our world with the need to still move forward and do so with concern and also moments of fun and humor (who can keep a straight face when Dr. Bennett goes upside down in his chair while doing a fireside chat?). In addition, it has provided a window for the students to recognize even more than usual that teachers also have lives and challenges (juggling their home situations, personal concerns, etc) while seeing them continue to focus on their students best interests.
It is truly a gift that Kehillah staff and teachers provide such amazing role models for our children.
I have been ASTOUNDED at how well “online school” is running. [Our son] is busy and content. I think the virtual interaction with teachers and classmates throughout the day is critical for the kids as they are physically isolated from everyone but family. Other schools seem to be in free-fall with no organized plan and individual teachers doing all different things. So thank you thank you to Kehillah administrators, teachers and staff who have executed this seemingly flawlessly. Hats off!!
We have been so impressed with how quickly you and all of the teaching staff have transitioned your teaching to online learning. Simply amazing!
Not only have the teachers at Kehillah been covering the kids’ educational needs with distance learning, but you have also helped them with how to stay in touch with their friends during shelter-in-place. [Our son] really appreciates how you’ve been taking the time during English for the kids to be able to share “hot tips” on what to do with all of their newfound time at home and how to stay in touch with each other.
The seamlessness with which Kehillah has shifted to an online format is truly remarkable. I know that the process must have been stressful, and bugs are inevitable. But, as a parent it is pretty remarkable.
We want to be sure you’re hearing THANK YOU loud and clear. I’m sure you are, but no doubt one more can’t hurt. We are immensely grateful for all you are doing to navigate the Kehillah community through these trying times. Please pass on our love and good wishes to the staff and board for their dedication, compassion and tremendous effort to protect our precious children from this global crisis. This semblance of normalcy is so helpful right now.
Thank you for stepping up and handling this situation so competently. Kehillah has been a shining beacon of competence and grace during this chaotic time. I look at what my son is doing at public school (1-2 hours of school a day, with no real structure) and I’m so grateful for the education you are able to provide [our son] and all the students.
