Class of 2019 Volunteer on the Leket Farm
The Kehillah class of 2019 has been in Israel for the last week and a half. Today, they volunteered with Leket, Israel. They worked hard farming beets, which resulted in 400 kilos (almost 900lbs), helping to feed 200 families! GREAT job!
Leket Israel works to eradicate hunger through their various food rescue projects. They provide food to 175,000+ Israelis each week and distribute over 2 million hot meals a year. Every year, the Kehillah junior class trip volunteers at Leket on their farm. It is a great way to learn about farming and tikkun olam (literally, “repair of the world”, alternatively, “construction for eternity”) together as a community.
