A letter from our Head of School and Board Chair
Dear Kehillah,
We are excited to write to you on this first Shabbat of the 20-21 school year.
For the past six months, we’ve been working together as Daisy transitioned to her role as Head of School and Tzachi transitioned from his role as Chair of the Board Finance Committee to serve as Kehillah’s new Board Chair. We wanted to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to the new school year.
2020 has already presented us with immeasurable challenges and continues to provide new opportunities for building both our patience and resilience. Just as Kehillah rose to the COVID challenge by immediately implementing emergency remote learning, we have no doubt that by working together we can make this year even more successful.
We’re thrilled to share that word is spreading about the positive Kehillah experience. Throughout the summer new families have been reaching out to us and the inquiries to admissions keep coming, highlighting the outstanding work of our team. Meeting the demands of increased enrollment and online learning, requires an extraordinary commitment by our faculty and staff. We’d like to express our gratitude for their tireless work and dedication to start the school year. Our task forces continue to meet to design the best possible options for Kehillah to remain safe, healthy and engaged in learning. Even in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, our faculty remains committed to providing an excellent Kehillah experience.
This spring, we experienced the generosity of our community, led by giving from the Board of Directors, to ensure we could support Kehillah through the uncertain initial months of the pandemic and continue to thrive.
Throughout this year we will engage in collaborative planning for a future that will demand creativity, flexibility, and resilience. We are committed to providing meaningful and engaging learning regardless of the teaching mode. We are committed to exploring our ongoing role in anti-racist work and continuing to inspire students who will be the change-makers for a better world. We are committed to listening and learning from our community as we better define who we are and where we are going.
Our leadership team is focused on the here and now as well as the far horizon. Our faculty and staff are ready to meet any challenge with energy and innovation. Our students are excited to engage in learning with their peers and their teachers. Everyone is happy to be back together for this extraordinary year.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Staff of Kehillah Jewish High School, WELCOME to the 20-21 SCHOOL YEAR!! BRING IT ON!
Shabbat Shalom 🕯️
