Anthony Quartuccio
Music Teacher
 

Anthony Quartuccio teaches music theory and composition at the introductory, intermediate and AP levels as well as chorale and instrumental groups. Mr. Quartuccio serves as a conductor at Opera San Jose, associate conductor of the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, and music director of the South Valley Symphony. In 2006 he received an honorary doctorate of Arts from Santa Clara University, in addition to awards from the California State Senate, Santa Clara County, and the Italian-American Heritage Foundation for his contributions to the performing arts in the Bay Area. Mr. Quartuccio is an alumnus of the Curtis Institute of Music, and has studied conducting with Otto-Werner Mueller, Gunther Schuller, and Gustav Meier at Tanglewood. On April 26, 2009 Mr. Quartuccio conducted the San Jose Youth Chamber Orchestra in a performance for the 14th Dalai Lama during his visit to the Bay Area. SJYCO member and Shoshana Bocian (Class of 2010) played viola in the performance.
