Weekly Update 9/4/2020
Dear Kehillah,
This first FULL week of school has been great! Energy, enthusiasm, engagement, and reconnection abound. After an upside down spring and a challenging summer of planning/waiting, it finally feels like school again. Between the students and the teachers, I’m not sure who was most excited to be back in the classroom!
Streamlining Communication: Now that we’re into the swing of the school year, my weekly update will be a part of the weekly eNews that goes out each Friday. If there is a need for additional communication, it will be sent out directly to you via Constant Contact.
We’ll continue to post our Virtual Couchside Coffee Notes on the Kehillah website by the end of each week. Please join us for this spirited discussion on Thursdays from 9-10AM
COVID19: The Office of the Governor has shifted the “watch list” system to color-coded tiers for counties in California. Santa Clara County is currently in the PURPLE zone – widespread COVID19. This means we remain in the most restrictive category. The Santa Clara Department of Public Health data shows a COVID19 caseload above the threshold. We’ll keep you posted on any changes that might affect us at Kehillah.
Labor Day Safety: There is widespread concern that this weekend’s activity could result in a spike in cases. Remember to avoid crowds and practice the Four Pillars of COVID19 health and safety – good masks, distance, handwashing, and screening of yourself and others with whom you will come in contact (Dwayne, The Rock, Johnson just shared his family’s battle with COVID19 after a 2-family social gathering with trusted friends. When in doubt, stay outdoors, masked, and distant!)
We are deeply grateful that you continue to entrust us with shaping the lives of those who will shape the future. We promise that we take this responsibility seriously each and every day.
Have a safe and restful weekend– we look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday!
Shabbat shalom,
Daisy
