As you know, our beloved Principal, Alison Ruebusch, will be retiring at the end of this academic year. I hope you will join us for the school's annual meeting on Wednesday, May 27th, as we honor Alison for her years of service to our school.
Since we announced Alison's retirement at the end of February, the school has undertaken an exhaustive national search for our next Principal.
I am extremely happy to announce that Patti Carbery will be joining Kehillah this summer as our next Principal (pictured).
Ms. Carbery comes to us with a wealth of experience in every aspect of High School leadership. She has served The Rivers School, in Weston, MA, in a variety of capacities since 1993. For more than a decade, she has served as Head of the Upper School. In that role, she directed the academic program for grades 9-12 and oversaw the daily operations of the division.
In addition to her leadership of the Upper School, Ms. Carbery has held a number of important positions at The Rivers School. She has taught history for more than twenty years, coached varsity basketball and softball, served as a Dean, and as the Associate Director of College Counseling.
She earned her B.A. in American Studies from Yale University and her M.S. in School Administration from Northwestern University. Originally from Lockport, Illinois, Patti, her partner Sandi, and son Quinn are looking forward to reconnecting with West Coast family and are absolutely thrilled to be joining the Kehillah community this fall.
You will have an opportunity to meet Patti when she visits the area at the end of May. We will send out more information in the coming weeks.
