Kehillah Jewish High School

Student Life

Kehillah students continue to learn, contribute and have fun outside of the classroom as well as inside. Their class trips take them to venues from Yosemite to Jerusalem, where they share new experiences, learn about local culture and engage in community service. Team sports are popular and accessible. A wide variety of extra-curricular clubs allow students to explore interests from creative writing to social action to robotics to stand-up improvisational comedy. Best of all, student life at Kehillah is student-planned and student-led, affording all students the opportunity to lead.

Inside the Classroom

Kehillah’s college preparatory dual studies program in general and Jewish studies prepares students for all that awaits them after high school. Kehillah graduates have been admitted to the finest public and private universities nationwide. The school’s ratio of teachers to students is impressively high, allowing for ample individual attention and teacher access. Interactive SMART Boards in every classroom, state-of-the art science and computer labs, versatile art studio and drama theatre allow students to learn and create in a variety of modalities. At Kehillah, students don’t merely learn to succeed. They learn to think critically, to engage fully in their studies and to nurture their intellectual passions.

Our Community

Kehillah is a pluralistic community that celebrates the unity of the Jewish people. The school seeks out students from all Jewish backgrounds and attracts students whose parents or grandparents come not only from the United States, but also from Asia, Central and South America, Europe and the Middle East. Kehillah honors the varied Jewish perspectives of its students, fosters an enduring love of Jewish learning, and focuses on the teachings, experiences and challenges that bind the Jewish people together. Kehillah’s community of board members, staff, students, families and school supporters is warm, welcoming and supportive. More than a just a school, Kehillah lives up to its meaning of “community” in every way.
